Frequently Asked Questions

Let’s address some of your concerns!

Will we run 5km’s every run?

Absolutely not. This program is completely geared towards beginners. On day 1 you’ll begin by walking for 1 minute and running for 1 minute, 10 times. This means you’ll spend a total of 20 minutes on the road.

Where do we meet?

Each area has a different meeting point. For security reasons, we prefer to not disclose this on the website, but if you’re serious about signing up, then please contact us to confirm your meeting point: runningforcakeza@gmail.com. The suburbs covered for 16 August include: Bryanston, Centurion, Douglasdale, Illovo, Lonehill, Sunninghill, and Parkmore.

What does the program include?

You will be given access to a Facebook community which is where all of the information for the program will be share
Direct access to Michelle for gear guidance
3 x weekly runs with your dedicated coach
2 x strength training provided online for you to complete at home
A finale run on 2 or 3 October (to be confirmed) at Decathlon Sports Hub, Bryanston


What are the costs?

This program will cost R800 for the 7 weeks.

I’m worried I won’t be able to keep up, what fitness is required for this program?

For the past 4 years, I’ve had people tell me they’re too overweight, they’re too old, or they are incapable of running. Unfortunately for you but fortunately for me, I have seen too many people succeed for you to be filled with self-doubt at this point! I’ve had people overtake me in speed and distance too many times to know that you will be able to get through this program! So sign up and let’s do this!

What gear do I need to join?

A great pair of shoes and a sports bra! Then some of your favourite socks, leggings, and tops! We’ll provide some options within the program!

What happens after the 7 weeks?
You will be ready to either start pushing things up to your 10km mark, or you could choose to integrate yourself into many other running groups within your area!
